July 22, 2010; San Diego, California: Little Ricky Software™, LLC and Comic-Con International today announced they have partnered to bring the world’s first exclusive and limited-edition Comic-Con 2010 ShakyGlobe eCollectible as a souvenir to many thousands of attendees of this sold-out event that brings together the comic genre and its artists in a celebration of culture, art, and Pop Culture.
Using the free ShakyPlanet App for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, attendees can download the Comic-Con 2010 ShakyGlobe souvenir as a way to capture, remember, and share with friends this once-a-year mega-event that has been perpetually sold out for years. Only attendees who are physically at the San Diego Convention Center during this year’s Comic-Con will be able to download this free souvenir.
ShakyPlanet is the world’s first digital-merchandise ecosystem to offer eCollectibles. eCollectibles are media-rich digital objects depicting locations, characters, brands, music, and more, in a variety of formats that are already established as collectibles in the real world.
eCollectibles “live” in ShakyPlanet on your smart-phone or tablet device, just like your music collection, videos, photos, etc. They are all in a single place, that is easily transportable, and that you keep with you 24/7 to view, to enjoy and to share with friends and family (via popular social-networking sights or your email list).
Every eCollectible is individually identifiable, with embedded information that allows them to be authenticated, establishing unique and clear ownership and origin (via patent-pending methods). By registering with ShakyPlanet, your Comic-Con 2010 ShakyGlobe becomes your personal property, assuring that you own a verifiably-unique edition of your eCollectible.
“Our mission is to bring joy to people by providing them the opportunity to own high quality, entertaining, and unique eCollectibles,” said Michal Anne Rogondino, founder and CEO of Little Ricky Software. “Comic-Con, with its insanely creative and passionate members, is the perfect venue for us to reveal our unique, limited-edition souvenir! The reaction has been phenomenal and we are delighted to ‘give it away’ during this exciting event.”
Comic-Con is sponsored by a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular art forms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.
“We are delighted that ShakyGlobe has chosen to honor Comic-Con with this free downloadable collectible,” said David Glanzer, spokesperson for the non-profit event.
The first eCollectibles being offered in ShakyPlanet are ShakyGlobes, with more exciting eCollectibles to come soon. ShakyPlanet will also be available on other platforms, like Blackberry & Android.
